Blue Sky Fibers – Prairie

Since 2023, Blue Sky Fibers is part of Malabrigo, now with a limited edition of the Prairie in hand-dyed colors.

Prairie is a brushed yarn that is made from 100% alpaca! It is an excellent alternative to Mohair.
When used on its own Prairie creates a sheer, lightweight fabric. When paired with another yarn, it creates a feathery, soft halo.

Prairie’s unique blend consists of 53% Suri Alpaca / 47% Baby Huacaya Alpaca. The combination of the softness of the Suri Alpaca and the structure of the Baby Huacaya Alpaca creates a beautiful yarn. Light, airy and soft, this single, ‘fingering’ weight yarn consists of 14 picturesque colours inspired by the Minnesota Prairies.
