A month ago I was at the Breidagen in Nijkerk and you could see and feel a number of new test yarns for ‘The Coloured Cat’. For those who don’t know, under the name ‘The Coloured Cat’ I carry the yarn that I dye myself.
Under the name TCC Test Chunky you could see the yarn below. The yarn consists of 70% Peruvian wool and 30% Baby Alpaca, it is lovely and soft and you knit it on needles 8 – 10 mm. The top-down knitted example sweater in stockinette stitch with raglan sleeves, was a fast knit on needles 10 mm (for the borders I used 8 mm). For a size XL you need 5 skeins.

Now that I have decided to add this yarn to the collection of ‘The Coloured Cat’ this season it will be called ‘Selkirk Rex chunky’. The Selkirk Rex is a cat with a curly coat which I thought that was quite appropriate.
